Traveling and surfing the best breaks in the world may seem like a dream job, but even professional surfers need to break away from the daily work grind and Jordy Smith is no exception. Constantly competing and traveling can really take it’s toll, putting you in auto-pilot mode. Which brings up the question, “how do competitive surfers take time off of their job?” They find an empty line-up and go free-surfing of course! Jordy Smith takes a couple of days off to recharge by escaping to a remote paradise in South Africa, scoring some clean sandy-bottomed barrels. Jordy proves that living a balanced lifetyle is important, after all, “surfing is [his] whole life”. -Jordy Smith
